Eco Rebates

& Incentives

News and Previews || unknown

Savvy managers and directors should always be on the lookout for opportunities to ‘go green’. New condo constructions are often built to LEED® standards or incorporate eco-advantages such as energy efficient windows, green roofs, solar panels, low voltaic paints and LED lighting. But across the province there are plenty of older stock condos where energy-efficient upgrades and retrofits can be implemented and advantages can be taken from the many eco rebates and incentives that are available.

The Province of Ontario implemented its five-year Climate Change Action Plan aimed at fighting climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

Municipal governments have set their own action plans and targets as well as programs that offer incentives to help residents and businesses contribute to a lower-carbon footprint. The City of Toronto, for example, has several programs for condo corporations to tap into. Do your research. The right green project can mean money in your corporation’s account.
