Education: The Cornerstone of ACMO

Last Word || Dianne Werbicki

In June, ACMO held its first-ever Mini-Conference for GTA members in cooperation with CCI-Toronto. Here you can see the interest in the Q&A following the Regulatory Panel session. Photo: Ferenaz Lalji.

The cornerstone of ACMO is education. Since its inception in 1977, the focus of ACMO’s board of directors has been to educate new and seasoned condominium managers so that these information-hungry individuals could carry out their duties on a professional level. We were honoured in 2017 when our condominium management courses were recognized by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and named a requirement for licensing. Earlier this year we received the commission to create online modules addressing changes to the Condominium Act to serve as the continuing education requirement for licensing renewal for 2019. More information on these modules can be found in both the Executive Director and President’s messages in this issue.

The upcoming annual condominium conference on November 16 and 17 is known for its informative and engaging sessions. We hope you will attend to share and learn best practices, trends, legislative developments and more.

ACMO’s weekly e-newsletter, the ACMO Envelope, has been received with enthusiasm by our members. We are happy to make it available by email to non-members. You can subscribe through our website http://acmo.org/acmo-envelope/.

And, of course, ACMO’s flagship publication CM Magazine will be celebrating 40 years in 2019.

The goal of all our education courses, events, publications and programs can be summarized in one word. Respect. For knowledge. For hard work. For commitment. For volunteers. For professionals. For members. And non-members.
