Mississauga, ON, December 18, 2024:

Two years ago, on December 18th, 2022, our condominium community was shaken by a tragic shooting that resulted in loss of life and injuries to Condominium Directors and their families. This event left an indelible mark on us all. Today, our thoughts are with those who were impacted by the incident. We stand united in our resolve to prevent a similar tragedy from happening again.

Joint Safety and Security Committees, representing ACMO, CCI T, CCI EO, and CAI Canada, continue to work towards meaningful change. By submitting proposals to government bodies and agencies, our Legislative committee is taking steps to improve safety and protect residents' well-being. Our Resources committee is developing a website of useful resources and available training.

We remain focused on creating safer, stronger communities.

Association Spokespeople:

  • Brian Antman, CCI-T President
  • Sally Thompson, CAI-C President
  • Eric Plant, ACMO President
  • Nancy Houle, CCI-EO President.

About the Canadian Condominium Institute (CCI)
CCI is the largest Canadian condo association dealing exclusively with condominium issues affecting all of the participants in the condominium community. The chapters throughout Canada provide practical comparisons to the different provincial condominium legislation and allow us to work with various levels of governments for better reforms based on practical experience. CCI assists the association membership in establishing and operating successful condominium corporations through education, resources, seminars and referrals to expert assistance.

CCI does not represent any one profession or interest group. Rather, it represents all facets of the condominium community, encouraging all interest groups to work together towards one goal.
